After two successive 1-goal defeats, the Honey Badgers were in desperate need of some of Luke’s Grandmother’s biscuits. (#metaphor) Facing Beercelona though, is no easy task. They were sitting pretty at the top of the Over 30A table and were coming off a summer thrashing of Cameron Road where they dropped 6 goals on the…
For the second consecutive week, Cameron Road came up just a few plays short and again lost by 1 goal. It was another good game against two evenly matched teams, but this time out the Honey Badgers slick passing game was lost somewhere deep in the tree line and replaced by a battering ram approach….
As Carl Sagan would have said it, “the Honey Badgers had billions and billions of chances,” but just couldn’t put the ball into the back of the net to avenge Carlos’ injury. (Google it, it’s a pretty clever reference) With plenty of subs, a sideline bursting with fandom, a drunken Verity crew handing out #service…
If ever there was a time for a letdown, it was Sunday. A week removed from beating their biggest rivals (sorry Dragons), the Honey Badgers could have taken their foot off the gas and taken a leisurely drive out to Manor for a little game of grab ass. Instead, they chose to install a 4:11 Positrac…
In a game three years in the making, the Honey Badgers beat longtime Clark Field rivals The Punters with the prestigious “Soccer 1” status on the line. Goals by Andy and Gianluca sealed the victory in the second half, and a rock-solid Danimal lead defense pitched a shutout as the frustrated Punters found no love in…
Week two and the Honey Badgers are sitting pretty at the top of the table. Who woulda thunk it? A 4-1 victory against Club America yesterday saw them ascend to the top of the standings with an impressive performance. The Honey Badgers traded in their 5% possession game from last week and switched to a…
In an epic show of team strength, heroic defending, grit, determination and one fantastic counter attacking goal, Cameron Road United took the league by storm winning their Over 30A opener 1-0. Badger Town received an upgrade as Jefe went West Coast Customs on our new tent. There were $300 worth of new match balls in…
It was a one-of-a-kind event on Sunday as Referee Czar Aubry Daniels set up a final farewell match for longtime AMSA servant Scott Boykin, and decided that Cameron Road United were to be his swan song opponent. Quite an honor for the Honey Badgers. It was a friendlyish game, and both Andy and Willis decided to jump…
There was rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast. The Honey Badgers got neither Sunday morning, and were instead treated to Vietnam-like, sweltering heat and humidity for their 8am DMZ rendezvous with a plate of Mas Fajitas. Mas Fajitas were a mixed bag, but the core of their team consisted of a gang of kids…
Badgers win! Badgers win! It was a battle for animal kingdom supremacy on Sunday, and there was going to be only one winner who just didn’t give a shit. The Honey Badgers defeated the snarling Wolverines 2-0 and finally got their first summer win of the season. Whew. In stark contrast to last week, the…
Ughhh. It was not pretty yesterday as Cameron Road’s summer woes continued with a 3-1 loss to the Austin Athletic All Stars. AAC were stacked with a few professional wrestlers, the Mountain from Game of Thrones, and a few scattered lower division players. Still, if it weren’t for Chappy’s abysmal finishing and the referee’s blind…
In a battle of the zoo animals, the Honey Badgers and Bad Monkeys played to a thrilling 3-3 draw as the blistering Texas summer heat baked the field like a plate of Luke’s Grandmother’s hot biscuits that were left in the over too long. Badgertown was two tents strong, and with the deflated Punter’s tent serving as…
Another week, another 1 goal loss. At least the Honey Badgers are developing some consistency. That’s three 1 goal losses out of four so far. It was looking rough at kickoff as Cameron Road suited up 8 players to take on Austin Blues, and the Dragons were in full heckling form after their Division 12 win…
On a positive note, Danimal returned with a brand new Hops and Grain summer brew which was fantastic. He also scored the only goal of the game for the Honey Badgers as his visceral plunges forward into the depths of Real Austin’s box lead the charge for the second half comeback.
Apparently there was a game very early in the morn on July 26. Andy scored a glorious volley and Gigi bagged a late goal…. and in between Beercelona ran riot. Oh well, the beaches of the Mayan Riviera were wonderful.
We came. We drank. We gave Ciro a parking lot ice bath. We cheered on the USA. We saw Messi and Argentina put on a show. The end.
Two things happened yesterday that have not occurred in quite some time. The Honey Badgers rocked their white kits, and they lost a game. It was a pretty good match as the Honey Badgers had some key members missing and their opponents came prepared with about 20 subs. After going down 3-0, Cameron Road decided…
A comment on Jay’s anatomy. A recap of the game. How we took over the league. Team awards. And a stern warning for The Punters!
Cameron Road United were crowned Over 30B Champions on Sunday after brushing aside Bat City 3-1 in their final game of the season. It was quite a ride for the Honey Badgers, who made up close to 10 points from the start of the Spring Season to surge back up the table with a blistering…
Congratulation to Danny for winning this year’s Most Valuable Player “Golden Gigi” award. Danny might have been shocked at the honor, but his teammates weren’t as they voted for him even though he missed the entire Fall Season.
Congratulations to Gianluca, who came back from knee surgery, played little more than half a season, and held off a late charge from Derek to win the Golden Boot. Fitting that he scored his 11th goal of the season to wrap up the championship on Sunday.
