Opening Game of Summer Comeback Falls Short as Badgers Lose To Austin Goldstar Gold Allstar Golddiggers 3-2
Two things happened yesterday that have not occurred in quite some time. The Honey Badgers rocked their white kits, and they lost a game. It was a pretty good match as the Honey Badgers had some key members missing and their opponents came prepared with about 20 subs. After going down 3-0, Cameron Road decided to kick off the official comeback though, and made a last ditch effort to rescue a point.
BT was the star man as his long “pass” to Derek inside the box actually bounced in front the of the keeper and over his head for goal #1, and his free kick outside the box found Chappy’s head for goal #2. The game ended with a flurry of activity inside the other team’s box as the Honey Badgers tried to sneak in the tying goal. Even Jaybone released himself on his own recognizance and got into the mix.
Anyway, it’s summer, and we’ve got new t-shirts, stickers, the tent and a misting station. So it’s all good.
