Goals Swalled Up By Halloween Mist As Honey Badgers Play Verity To An Unsatisfying 0-0 Draw

The Halloween Mist!
The Halloween Mist!

The Mist descended upon Manor like something out of a Stephen King novel. It was the morning before Halloween, and all the tree line gremlins and shadow cats prowled the pitch in search of a bloody feast. They must have gotten to Verity early and snatched one of their players up, because they only had 10 men for the first 20 minutes of the game.

During those minutes, the Honey Badgers controlled the match, slicing out thru-ball chances to Derek and McKenna like a Ginsu through a pumpkin. But the evil orc from underneath the windmill saw fit to club the balls away harmlessly before they could find their targets.

Without their ghastly leader, Joe, Verity had to rely upon a sideline brew of cobra eyes and Punter tears to keep them in the match. Once the team had partaken from the elixir, they started to give the Honey Badgers fits, especially with set pieces and corner kicks.

Deep in the Manor forest, Travis concocted a spell by assembling 101 black cats balanced on Nick’s abs as he did 1,000 push ups. He was able to cast his spell upon the unsuspecting Honey Badgers and the results were quite shocking: Back passes to the enemy, clumsy traps, chances wasted. All to Travis’s chagrin.

With hardly a shot taken by Cameron Road, the best plays of the game were on the back end. Jefe saved a goal off the line to end the first half and Jay saved a sure last minute game winner in the second half.

And so the Honey Badgers survived a less than thrilling nil nil affair with Verity. Still, it was a shutout, and the point earned pushed Cameron Road back into first place in the division with one game remaining in the Fall Season.

Post-Match Carnage: Apparently Peterson suffered two Dire Wolf bites and somewhere, deep on the streets of Manhattan, Ciro shot a ball directly to a keeper.
