Last week’s special guest trip to the Spirit World is replaced by a more familiar narrative. This week, we turn the page on chapter 5, as the Honey Badgers mauled Lucky Lounge 6-1 for their fourth win in a row. At 11:15am, the Badger Den looked like a homeless soup kitchen packed with Scotty Boykin…

Cameron Road continued their hot streak and won it’s second game on the bounce by defeating Austin Athletic Club 2-1. It was another solid team performance from the Honey Badgers who only had 2 subs on the bench. This was a somewhat new Austin Athletic Club team, and they were much easier to break down…
What a difference a week makes. After losing the Clark Field Derby Trophy in rather humiliating fashion last week, the Honey Badgers rebounded with a resounding 2-0 victory against Phoenix yesterday. With two tents worth of subs, beer and defenders, Cameron Road United was looking solid in the pre-game warm up. And low and behold,…
Like the mighty Smaug burning down Laketown, the Dragons unleashed a fiery assault on the Cameron Road goal as they beat them 5-1 on Clark Field Derby Day #3. The Honey Badgers stood firm in the first half, but the lack of warm bodies and defensive specialists was too much to overcome in the second…
Cameron Road United stormed back in the second half to close out the summer season in style with a 3-2 victory over the pesky Phoenixcelona team. Team Jefe were first to the fields in the pre-dawn hours to set up camp and feed the many deer and small marmots who call the tree line their…
Apparently there was a first half that started at 2:00 where Dermot assisted Andy with a goal, and Beercelona scored two. That’s the rumor anyway. Now the second half, that was something to write about. Well, not really. Adam did have a great look at goal, Andy continued to look like a threat, and Travis…
Wearing their brand new USA BADGER kit for the first time, Cameron Road brought home the groceries, but couldn’t put the finishing touches on the meal at they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Cirrus Logic. With the tents tactically nestled on the tree line of field 10, the Honey Badgers had two…
It might have been a loss, but for the second week in a row, Cameron Road United fought hard and played well despite the result. The final score was 2-1 for Manchesthair United, but the Honey Badgers almost squeaked out a draw at the last second. Noon in August is hot. Really hot. And luckily for…
Damn. The Honey Badgers let one slip away through their grimy, cobra blood soaked claws on Sunday. With a seemingly insurmountable shot surplus, Cameron Road let Club America squeak back into the game off two second half goals to spoil their unbeaten summer run. As the team assembled before the game, Cameron Road welcomed back lifetime Honey…
In the Second Annual Clark Field Derby, Cameron Road retained the glorious (and ever-expanding) trophy by beating the Dragons 2-1. The Clark Field melting pot took center stage on Field #2. Ben christened the field by refereeing the previous game, A-A-A-Ron took turns tent swapping and not being on anyone’s official roster, and fellow Punters…
In the battle of early morning nasty-as-hell carnivorous mammals, there was only going to be one winner. Honey Badgers 3 – Wolverines 0. There was a bit of worry in the early morning Badger Den as Ciro was having trouble waking up. Luckily for him and the rest of the early risers, Gigi came equipped with…
With things all square on the pitch, the Honey Badgers took City behind the wood shed for a good’ol beat down after the game. As the City stragglers limped to their cars soon after the game with no tent, no beers and no fun, Cameron Road put on a 2+ hour display of sheer numpyness…
With the brutal rays of summer finally beating down on them, the Honey Badgers took the field at noon to face the mighty Manchester City. City may not have secured the services of Raheim Sterling by kickoff, but they did unleash a dynamic duo frontline that was as formidable as Cameron Road had ever seen….
Not even the raucous support of Hagrid and the Baker Street Mean Eyed Cat Boys could rally the Honey Badgers to victory yesterday as they fell to another top of the table team. Cameron Road fielded a strong compliment of subs, but were still missing some key players as McKenna, Luke, Crosley, Ben, Ciro and…
With a dreadfully average league campaign drawing to a close, and fresh memories of the heartbreaking, last-second Fall Cup Final defeat still on their minds, the Honey Badgers knew that the Clark Field Derby was their last chance at filling up the trophy cabinet this year. And with an impressive late second half charge, Cameron…
What was that…. soccer on a Sunday?! No rain?! Unbelievable. Yes soccer fans, it was true. There was a game to be played after many rainouts, and the Honey Badgers and Chopped Liverpool took to the lovely green pitch at Onion Field to do battle for Crown and Anchor supremacy. When beer, the outside round…
Miraculously, the rains that were forecast for the weekend never materialized, and instead the drive out to Manor was accompanied by a thick blanket of eery fog. Ominous…. but for which team? The Honey Badgers welcomed the mythical Ben Lee into the midfield, and alongside Ciro, they formed the central midfield “tower of power”. They…
Cameron Road United finally got back on the pitch after the spring monsoons made way for sunny skies at Onion Creek. In a battle with the league’s top dogs, pardon me, cats, the Honey Badgers stood toe-to-toe with the former Baker Street Boys and gave them all they could handle. A scoreless draw was probably…
The Honey Badgers pitched another defensive shoutout against table toppers Chopped Liverpool yesterday and earned a well-deserved point. Everyone was probably expecting a rain out since the fields were a wet, muddy, freezing cold mess, but the league said “game on” and the badgers assembled on the sidelines with a few subs ready for battle.
What a difference a week makes! Fresh from an embarrassing second half collapse against the Madrigal Dragons last week, the Honey Badgers were thirsty for cobra’s blood. They were onto the sent early, as they showed up 17 strong before kickoff. Rumor has it that Jefe sent up camp in the 7:00 hour, finding just…
For the second time in three tries, the Honey Badgers made it to the Austin Fall Cup Finals in a thrilling, captivating, monumental, epic weekend of soccer and sausages. The Cameron Road Executive Council did its homework with the pre-tournament planning as they secured the services of Travis, Nick and Berto to add a “Punter Bump”…
In the battle for the Crown & Anchor, Cameron Road United came up just short and fell to Chopped Liverpool on Sunday. It was a closely contested game that went down to the wire in typical derby fashion. If not for some bad luck and some heroics from the Liverpool keeper, the Honey Badgers would…
On a late Sunday afternoon in crispy October, the Onion Creek wind swiftly swept in from the south, whispering of unforgiving bounces and exuding an “anything goes” attitude. The Badgers of Cameron Road United gathered their strength at Field 6 of OCSC for the late 4 pm game. CRU made a good showing in numbers with 15 strong, and erecting a three-tent…
Cameron Road finally put it all together in their first win of the season. Two great goals, some even better saves, awesome shutout defense, and a total team effort allowed the Honey Badgers to close out the game in style. With McKenna and Z unavailable, Cameron Road elected to play a lone, bald front man…
With the dreadful summer season fading into memory like that one time Ryan claims to have scored five goals in a game, the Honey Badgers embarked on their second season in Over 30B with high hopes. Unlike last year, there was no Chris Peterson party to celebrate his freshly painted deck to knock out half the…
Thank God it’s over. While some of the other Over 30 B teams were lounging around in D5, Cameron Road United was given the harsh task of competing in the “under 18 year old & stock your team with premier player league” – D3. It was rough going, but today’s game against an Over 30…
In what is becoming a futile effort to play two complete halves of soccer, Cameron Road surrendered their 2-1 lead against red-hot Deportivo yesterday in a 3-2 loss. The Honey Badgers actually carved out one of their best performances of the season against another bunch of youngins’, but failed to hold onto the lead in…
