There’s nothing like beating the Celtic Cowboys on a Sunday morning. Doesn’t matter which version your facing, when you see those green and white stripes on the opposite side of the pitch, you wanna take’em down. And that’s just what Cameron Road did yesterday in a thrilling 3-2 victory.

In what was certainly their best 90 minutes of the season, an 11-man Cameron Road held out until the 80th minute when Black Star Austin converted a free kick to give them the win. For the second week in a row, Cameron Road gave up 4 goals in the second half and fell to the Strikers to continue their typical slow start to the fall season losing 6-1.

To say the final 4-1 scoreline was harsh on Cameron Road would be a fair statement. What started out so promisingly for CRU ended in a frustrating defeat at the hands of Massive Attack. Once again, CRU finds itself in a start-of-the-season hole and forced to make up some points.

In what was billed as a two-fer weekend of soccer action, Cameron Road United fell twice on consecutive days and got knocked out of the Aztex Cup competition and fell further down the Division 2 table. The news off the pitch wasn’t any better as several players earned early vacations with injuries.
