Cameron Road United fell to Black Star Austin 3-1 on the high plains of NEMP today despite a gutsy performance from the twelve players who were in town and up for the early morning match. Battling the switch to daylight saving time and a reorganized lineup, Cameron Road United started the morning off with Jay…

Cameron Road drew 1-1 with Valladolid this afternoon to earn their first points of the Spring Season. It wasn’t pretty, and the officiating crew didn’t help matter out, but it was a well-deserved point for CRU, and hopefully will springboard them into a run of good form.

Different week, same story for Cameron Road United as they continue to fight the good fight at Onion Creek, but wound up just short again. A really solid first half performance saw the CRU defense hold Massive Attack at bay, while at the other end Cameron Road’s attackers had a few cracks at goal. Luke…

Cameron Road United fell to Los Pumas 2-1 on the opening day of the Spring Season. In addition to the loss on the pitch, they lost one of their great teammates, as Bob Hutchinson played his final game for the club he grew up idolizing as a tiny coon ass. Tragic any way you slice…

This year’s installment of the Austin Fall Cup comes straight out of the Twilight Zone. Cameron Road’s results ran the gamut with a 1-1-1 record which didn’t allow them to advance to the knock out rounds, but once again there was never a dull moment to be had.

Cameron Road (or the Bad News Bears of D2), lost yesterday’s game to Valladolid 2-1 and continued their snake bitten run through the fall season. Finishing the campaign with 7 points is actually a high compared to the last couple seasons, but losing 4 out of the last 7 games by 1 goal has kept…

The high plains of NEMP were the scene for Cameron Road United’s 3rd 1-0 defeat in 6 weeks. Another early fluky goal proved to be their undoing against Elite FC during a Halloween game.

Cameron Road United was bitten by the jungle cat as they slipped up en route to a 1-0 loss. The fluid passing and calmness on the ball of the last few weeks was quickly replaced by a more sloppy style of play, although not lacking in effort. Maybe they were expecting to simply tap into…

Playing perhaps its best half of footy this season, Cameron Road United continued their good form on their way to a 1-1 draw with Austin Athletic Club – a team that usually causes them fits. In a crucial game against a top team, Cameron Road hoped to keep the momentum of the previous 3 weeks…

There’s nothing like beating the Celtic Cowboys on a Sunday morning. Doesn’t matter which version your facing, when you see those green and white stripes on the opposite side of the pitch, you wanna take’em down. And that’s just what Cameron Road did yesterday in a thrilling 3-2 victory.

In what was certainly their best 90 minutes of the season, an 11-man Cameron Road held out until the 80th minute when Black Star Austin converted a free kick to give them the win. With no subs to Black Star’s 6, the Cameron Road squad (Chap, Willis, Stripy, Peterson, Leif, Way, Luke, BT, Bob, Ciro…

For the second week in a row, Cameron Road gave up 4 goals in the second half and fell to the Strikers to continue their typical slow start to the fall season losing 6-1.

To say the final 4-1 scoreline was harsh on Cameron Road would be a fair statement. What started out so promisingly for CRU ended in a frustrating defeat at the hands of Massive Attack. Once again, CRU finds itself in a start-of-the-season hole and forced to make up some points.

… for the last 75 minutes. Unfortunately, Deportivo won the battle of the first 15 minutes by scoring 4 quick goals. Anyway, it was a rough day at the office for the boys in yellow and blue as they could not fight their way back from the opening hurricane katrina of goals. Give credit to…

After waltzing through last week’s game with the Celtic Cowboys, Cameron Road faced a much more talented and determined opponent in WTF. The hard fought game saw CRU come from behind to tie the game in the first half, and eventually see out the winner in the last minute of play in dramatic fashion.

On Sunday, Cameron Road exercised the demons of years past by dropping a dime on the Celtic Cowboys and earning a 10-1 victory. Never mind these weren’t the higher division Irishmen who had tormented Cameron Road for years in D2 – on the pitch, the uniforms and accents were the same, and these merry lads…

On a mostly forgettable hot and humid Sunday afternoon, Cameron Road succumbed to the curse of the dreaded ARM jerseys and fell to Austin Athletic Club by three goals. The cliff notes version of the game is that Cameron Road gave the ball away too many times, gifted the visitors several goals, and just couldn’t…

On a sweltering summer afternoon in July pushing tripple digits, Cameron Road United defeated the elder statesmen of Indios 2-1 for their second win in a row and fourth of the summer season. It was a difficult game to get a handle on as the mullet-lead defense of Indios employed a Spanish ‘keep away’ style…

Just like the old days when Andy Magilow was calling the shots, when Billy was just a wee young lad in his 30’s, when Willis was engaged (wait, isn’t he still engaged?), when Chappy had hair (ok, only a little bit, but still), Cameron Road beat up on longtime nemesis Babaganoutch en route to a…

With a hazy, hot film blanketing the sky, Cameron Road United took the field early Sunday morning and started their annual summer campaign off in style with a 1-0 victory over Fade to Black. Even at 8 a.m. the humidity was high, but Cameron Road used their recent good form to cut through the stifling…

So they were all dead, and the flash-sideways were supposed to be purgatory? What about the temple people that got introduced at the beginning of the season? What about the giant lizard-head statue, what about the island being under water? Oh wait, wrong season finale. The Cameron Road season ended not with a whimper, but…

Cameron Road United made their sacrifice to the tree line with a  4-3 thrilling victory against Massive Attack today, paying their respects to the looming arbor-filled backdrop and serving notice to the rest of D2 that they will not bow out of this season, let alone another division, quietly.

After receiving a red-headed-stepchild-like beating last week at the hands of Div 2 lumberjacks Verity, Cameron Road United bounced back yesterday to defeat Elite FC 1-0. The victory was in part helped by the bountiful assortment of players available on the sidelines, 6 subs compared to Elite’s none. This was especially valuable when Elite mounted…

For 65 minutes, it really didn’t seem that bad. Holding onto a slim 2-0 lead, Verity unleashed a 20 minute barrage of goals to close out the game and send Cameron Road home with a massive loss. With the majority of defenders unavailable for this week’s game, CRU sported a makeshift lineup, but still had…

Tough loss. Damn, this one just got away from CRU at the death. NEMP, where wind is born. – BT On a windy day up north, Cameron Road took on the league’s top dawg, Deportivo, in a battle of league bookends. Deportivo, riding a wave of victories and determined to stay top of the table,…

As backyard beer drinkers all across America took notice, Cameron Road United reeled off their second pint-powered 1-0 victory in a row against teams sponsored by clear liquors. Last weekend, it was the sorority house party Mike’s Hard Lemonade that felt the pub wrath; and this weekend it was Austin Athletic Club that payed the…
