WIN: 2-1 vs Beerca – Badgers Bounce Back Beating Beerca!
On an actual winter morning, with frost in the air and Ciro in need of a thick, wool blanket, the Honey Badgers got back to their winning ways with a 2-1 thumping of long-time friendly rivals, Beercalona. Badgertown didn’t have a tent on this gray morning, but they did have some Badgers to welcome back…

LOSS: 1-3 vs Travis FC – Goals Dry Up Against League Leaders
Sunday. Noon. Still too hot and muggy for November. Ciro was in uniform, but for how long? Andy showed up, but would he have his jersey and cleats? Jefe and the tents were back, but would they turn the tide? Three-ish subs arrived, but would they be enough? So many questions. So many questions. The…

DRAW: 2-2 vs Hill Country – Trick or Treat! Tentless Badgers Comeback to Earn a Point on Halloween Eve
No tent. No ball. No beer. No Jefe. There were some David S Pumpkins level Halloween tricks going on yesterday at Onion Creek. Brian Parks did show up for this first action this season after recovering from successful pronoun surgery. He’s now going by “Dem Parks”. He also brought a ball, as did Ciro who…

LOSS: 1-2 vs Beerca – Badgers Dominate But Playing the Long Game
Well, strategically, the Badgers are putting in work on their long-term plan of staying in Over 40A, and yesterday was the first step. The Badgers controlled most of the action, but just couldn’t find the back of the net enough to grab some points from their friendly rivalry with the pit masters of Beerca. Cameron…

WIN: 3-0 vs Lofty FC – Just Another Day At The Office As Badgers Win
October. A hint of fall in the air. Back to Onion Creek for a game against Lofty FC. Wait, what’s that, 3 subs in Badgertown! (well, for the first half anyway) A Nasty Nate sighting! Danimal was back. Babies, children, two tents….. things were looking positive for Cameron Road during the pre-game build up. The…

DRAW: 1-1 vs Wolverines – 10 Man Badger Squad Frustrates 20 Man Wolverines with Heroic Defensive Performance
Sunday brought the bi-annual pilgrimage to the high plains of NEMP. Jefe was (of course) first to the field to set up Badgertown and greet the players. The patchwork pitch was actually looking slightly less than terrible, with strange patches of St. Augustine sprouting up inside the 18 yard boxes, and rolling hills of semi-green…

WIN: 2-1 vs Chopped Livers – Jesus Double Gives Badgers the Win
The Match Report according to Jefe: They scored on us on a break away five minuted into the game. Jeff Z intercepted the ball but it went right to their guy, Todd. Of course his name is Todd…. he’s cool though. He was on the wrong side of me and it was a race to…

DRAW: 1-1 vs Travis FC – Badgers Bag a Point on Opening Day
The musty jersey that has been sitting in the trunk of your car for a month. The search for the 2nd red sock. The shameful pre-game trek to the port-o-potty. The stickers covering the ball in pre-game warmup. Ahh, the sights and smells for Opening Day at Onion Creek. The Honey Badgers suited up for…

Badgers Add More Silverware to the Trophy Cabinet!
Last night, the Badgers picked up their trophy for the Over 40B title to add to their cabinet of curiosities. There was a Gigi appearance, ceviche in margarita mugs, a Punter trophy sighting, some actual decent t-shirts from the league, and a spry Peterson doing cartwheels post back surgery. It was a good night!

The Post Game to End All Post Games
Big thanks to Beerca for providing the post-game grill out infrastructure for an epic end-of-season celebration! Those boys do it up right. For some the post-game lasted approximately 7 hours. Such a fitting end to a fantastic summer season. Couldn’t have done it without all the Punters, Jesus and Mark, a Verity and Guillermo N…

WIN: 3-1 vs Beerca – Badgers Beat Beerca in Summer Season Finale Before Dining on Grilled Meats, Fish and Margaritas!
Finally, the end of the long, grueling, hot, summer season was at hand. In more of a friendly with the good folks from Beercalona, Cameron Road packed the 3 tents of Badgertown with a full squad of 20 players ready to battle it out on the pitch and then party down until sunset. It was…

WIN: 3-1 vs Austin Power Outage – Call the Governor, Badgers shut down the Grid
Looking for an opportunity to bounce back from last week’s meltdown, the Honey Badgers gathered under Nick’s lone tent to prepare to battle the day glow clad gentleman from Austin Power Outage, who were decked out in bring pink tops. With Jefe successfully penetrating the inner sanctum of the Q2 Stadium the night before and…

LOSS: 8-2 vs Hooligans – Kind of a Day to Forget
The Honey Badgers were in for a fight today with some Hooligans. They were younger, faster, younger, and scoring goals for fun this summer as they rolled through the league with an undefeated record. Cool I guess if you’re into that kind of stuff, but did they have a tent with mist? Exactly. Boooooring. With…

DRAW: 3-3 vs Travis County FC – Badgers Take Down the City Thanks to Mark T’s Hat Trick!
Chappy was in Mexico so the Match Report is all heresy and conjecture. But word on the street was that it was a good game, albeit hot as balls at noon. Mark T scored a hat trick with assists from Adam G and his proud Papa, and Jefe shielded the keeper from his final free…

LOSS: 4-3 vs Arsenal – Badgers Run Out Of Time
Another beautiful 8am game at the Clark Field Stadium. Green grass, musical vibes, Ciro had Starbucks and Jefe had a pre-game Twisted Tea. All was good…. except there wasn’t a keeper in sight with Jaybone reenacting the 1985 smash hit Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey in his living room. “Billy, you want…

WIN: 4-3 vs Chopped Liverpool – Badgers and Friends Outlast Johnny Football in Epic Crown & Anchor Shootout!
“A wiser fella once said, sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, the bar eats you.” And sometimes the bar is the sponsor for two teams in an epic shootout at Onion Creek on a muggy Sunday morning. The Badgers and Friends squared off against an ancient foe yesterday as they faced Chopped Liverpool….

LOSS: 2-0 vs Mean Eyed Cat – Badgers Fall To A Mean-Eyed Cat In Epic Animal Kingdom Battle Royal
The good folks at league headquarters pulled the old switcharoo on the Badgers for their 8am game on Sunday. Instead of playing Cell United, the hapless team from Tesla, Cameron Road faced and Over 40 Premier team, Mean-Eyed Cat. Looks like they got bumped down to our division, while Cell United moved on to greener…

WIN: 4-3 vs Peludos FC – Crafty Badgers Beat Bunch of Gen Z’ers on Father’s Day!
For the 2022 Summer Campaign, the Cameron Road United Board put together a Frankenstein-like squad filled with Clark Field All Stars and fellow Over 40 members to battle the heat and young legs they might face. With game one scrapped, this was the Honey Badgers first test, and they drew the short straw of time…

Gianluca’s Record Setting Season Sees him Earn His 3rd Golden Boot and 2021/2022 MVP!
25 goals. 10 assists. Constant hustle. This was one of the most incredible offensive season’s in Cameron Road history! We have run out of words for what Gianluca did this year. So many important goals and leading the team in assists as well. Bravo Gigi, Bravo!!

WIN: 3-1 vs Balcones – Badgers End Season With a Win As The Game is Cut Short After “Spitgate”
So many story lines as the Honey Badgers capped off their championship season with a 3-1 victory over Balcones Fault FC. With the Jugglers losing prior to kickoff, the Badgers ended the season with a dominating 8 point margin at the top of the Over 40B table. Champions baby, champions. With the season wrapped up,…

DRAW: 1-1 vs Jugglers – CRU Are CHAMPIONS!
Needing one point in the final two games to claim the Over 40B title, a short-handed CRU took the pitch against the dreaded Jugglers with dreams of another title on their minds. It was another week of “next man up” as half the squad was either injured, out of town, battling COVID, or raising a…

DRAW: 1-1 vs Old Boys – Short-Handed Badgers Grab a Draw and Ryan Willis is Alive and Well!
This was gonna be a tough one. The Honey Badgers were in desperate need of 11 players not injured, out of town, or missing in action. Luckily, no small thanks to Chris Peterson’s social media blitz, 11 players showed up and took the pitch to face the Old Boys on a beautiful Sunday morning. The…
