LOSS: 1-3 vs Chopped Liverpool – Will This Season Ever End!?

After last week’s Puntergate implosion, the Honey Badgers were looking to get back to winning ways against Chopped Liverpool. It was a gorgeous morning at Onion Creek field #9. Cameron Road was a little light on subs, but ended up with a pair of extra Badgers to throw into the mix. The Irish Pirate was back, as well as Andy, which was always good to see.

With Gianluca out and Derek feeling out the wings, 88 and 7 started up top. Schwarzy was also back to patrol the midfield and drop some knowledge in the center the park with Ciro. Big Dave was nursing the busted short rib, but Jeff Z was back from a brief suspension to fill out the back line with Danimal, Chris G, Jefe, Andy, Pete and whoever was needed back there throughout the day.

Right from minute one, Danimal issued a subtle reminder to the linesman about his offside duties, but that flag sure was up all day long. The game was pretty even early on until BAM, Andy popped up from the left side to drop in a nice goal past the keeper for the early Cameron Road lead. An early Cameron Road lead? Crazy.

The advantage didn’t last too long though as Chopped Liverpool got one back, poking in a rebound that Jaybone nearly saved.

The Livers have themselves a new, big, bald, burly dude up top who was running things for them. He was a handful and put in some powerful corner kicks.

With Jake out, Jefe had a nice tribute as he found himself like a turtle in the middle of the road on his backside.

Liverpool got another goal when their center back found space at the edge of the box and let loose a nice shot to close out the half.

Oranges were distributed, and little Hendrix wondered just what the heck he was watching. The Badgers poor form was giving him a stomach ache.

Cameron Road came out strong early in the second half, controlling the game for a good 20 minutes, but just couldn’t find the net.

At the back, Chris G and the Liverpool bully of a forward got into a little scrap as the dude was trying to play the ball from the ground. Somehow Chris G got a yellow card, but Cameron Road got the free kick. Explain that one.

Adam had a shot at goal. Pete attempted one which didn’t quite come off. Peterson fed Ciro inside the box with a great ball, but the little man didn’t have time to get around the keeper so the shot went to his belly. Chris also had the best chance at dragging another goal back with a nice curler from the left side of the box that pinged agonizingly off the post.

With the Badgers pushing everyone forward for the final minutes to get the tying goal, the big, bald Liverpool forward latched onto a breakaway for their third goal at the very end of the game. Jeff Z was not impressed.

Damn, another Sunday, another game that Cameron Road should have done much better with. Oh well, the season from Hell continues!

Man-of-the-Match: Andy was back, with red socks, blue shorts and a yellow jersey (sure, it was the old jersey, but it was yellow!) He ran his heart out and grabbed a nice goal. Congrats.

Post-Match-Report: Subdued.
