Well, it only took 7 weeks, but the Honey Badgers finally got their first win of the summer season yesterday, beating a depleted Most Interesting Bitchy Team In The World 3-2. In typical Cameron Road fashion, the game included a squandered lead followed up by a brilliant comeback. Lots of ins and outs to the…
The summer slide continued yesterday as Cameron Road United fell to Morelia 4-2. Although they were outplayed in the first half and went down by three goals, it’s wasn’t all doom and gloom as the Honey Badgers fought back and had the better second half. Late goals scored by Way and Dermot ignited the comeback against…
Cameron Road earned it’s first point of the Summer Season yesterday in a 3-3 draw the Slaughter Inferno crew. It was a competitive game that was marked by some dodgy refereeing and a crazy final 10 minute, 4 goal finale. With a full crew of subs in the tent (including fresh Punter meat Aaron and Glendon),…
The Summer Season. A glorious mixed bag of games versus just about anybody of any age. This week’s edition featured a matchup against Galaxia FC, who took pieces from their D1 team and mixed them with about 10 talented kids in the 17 year old range. It was a little strange. They Honey Badgers fielded…
The Honey Badgers started the summer season off with a highly entertaining 7 goal thriller against the Austin Blues. The narrow 4-3 loss was tough to swallow, especially since the referee disallowed Ryan’s would-be winning goal near the end of the game. It was a good turnout for the first game, and on-loan Punter Travis…
If you happened to catch the Champions League final, it was a good analogy for The Honey Badgers last game of the 2013/2014 season. Like Atletico Madrid, Cameron Road stood toe to toe with Austin Athletic Club until they were overcome by injuries, exhaustion, and a lack of fresh bodies to call upon. The final…
With a rag-tag squad, a dew-soaked pitch, one tent, one sub, and a shitload of beer, Cameron Road took the pitch for a do-or-die title battle against Cosmos. The Honey Badgers needed a result and some help from the other top four teams to ensure any hope at the title. Unfortunately, they got neither. An…
Cameron Road United stayed alive in the race for the title with a resounding 4-2 win over the pesky Dragons yesterday. Without Daenerys Targaryen to guide them, the Dragons came in a wounded beast, failing to score in their previous four matches. The Honey Badgers weren’t exactly coming into the game on a high…
It was not a good showing for Cameron Road yesterday. They were beaten soundly by Cosmos 4-1.
It was back to business as usual on Sunday as Cameron Road United beat Takoba by 3 goals and got right back into the logjam of teams vying for the title. While there were about 20 subs last week, this time around there were plenty of Honey Badgers out, either injured, out of town, or…
It was a glorious sunny day at NEMP. The temperature was holding at a pristine 65 degrees, the wind was a cool 5mph out of the north, the turf was a radiating hue of green that looked fresh out of a Skittles packet…. oh who am I foolin’, it was another disaster of a day…
The view from the sidelines was not pretty as these two Over 30B heavyweights slugged it out for 90 minutes on Sunday for top-of-the-table supremacy. The game was rough and tumble from the start, with fouls from each side landing as often as passes.
Back-to-back windy games for the Honey Badgers. This time out it was the high plains of NEMP that provided the wind-tunnel setting for the early morning match against the Grackles.
Cameron Road’s seven game win streak ran up against a Texas tornado yesterday and they were blown momentarily off course by Baker Street in a 4-3 loss. The wind played a huge factor as all but one of the seven goals was scored with it. The mighty Honey Badgers put themselves in a fantastic position…
It’s seventh heaven for the Honey Badgers as they beat Austin Athletic Club 2-1 yesterday to take sole position of first place headed into the Spring Season! The two table leaders suited up for a winner-take-all game for the top of the division. Austin Athletic Club has always been a pesky opponent, especially when they…
For the first time in two and a half months, Cameron Road beat a team that wasn’t called The Punters. But it looks like all the sparring with their Clark Field sister team paid off as the Honey Badgers routed Bat City 4-0 to win their sixth straight game! It looked like and All Star…
With their second straight 2-1 victory, Cameron Road United pushed their win streak to 5 games and sit in third place going into the winter break. It has been a fantastic run of games for the Honey Badgers who just seem to find a way to win each week no matter the lineup. Cameron Road…
The streak continues! Cameron Road beat Grackles 2-1 yesterday to run their win streak to 4 games. It was an unseasonably HOT day at the Onion Creek Soccer Complex, temperatures were soaring into the 80’s which made it tough going for the 11 Honey Badgers who were available for the game. For the umpteenth week,…
After a long awaited absence, the Seshmeister returns with a breakdown of today’s 3-0 win as only he can. httpv://youtu.be/bl6EvDJjXQc
I think Charles Dickens said it best: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of offense, it was the age of defense, it was the epoch of scoring, it was the epoch of raging, it was the season of Peterson, it was the season of Danimal,…
Cameron Road United reclaimed beer drinking bragging rights in the Crown and Anchor Derby Sunday with a thrilling come from behind victory. This wasn’t a beautiful Barca vs. Real Madrid Classico, this was more of an old school AFC West showdown between the Raiders and the Chiefs. The tackles and cards were flying as both…
With grey skies and yet another rainout on the books, Honey Badger stadium was open and played host to a thrilling 15-15 Yellow vs. Blue scrimmage.
Cameron Road United gets its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory against Cannondale (a subsidiary of the Slaughter conglomerate). According to unverified third party reports, various faxes received, a Western Union telegram, and a carney soothsayer’s visions, Steve McKenna came away with both goals.
Week two of Over 30B saw last year’s #1 and #2 teams face off for the first time. After coming off a disappointing loss last Sunday, the Honey Badgers were eager to restart the season and get some points on the board. Cameron Road welcomed back a big chunk of the defense as Danimal, Cuyler,…
Cameron Road United was denied an opening day victory as the Dragons proved a worthy opponent on Opening day 2013. It was a rag-tag bunch that showed up for the game: Many hungover from the night’s festivities. A few under the weather. Nevertheless, the 12 that showed up expected to get something out of…
With a win needed to secure the summer season title, Cameron Road United fielded a strong 16 man squad on another blistering hot Sunday afternoon. They lined up to face the top dawgs Beercelona.
After falling just short of another amazing comeback on the field, Cameron Road absolutely destroyed the Post Game under the shade of the duel tented badger den. There were some interesting developments to say the least. Does the phrase “back to front” ring a bell? No… just ask Peterson.
Heartbreak for the Honey Badgers as 20 man Manchester City score a last minute goal to spoil yet another epic comeback. The 3-4 scoreline indicated a close game, but it wasn’t looking that close in the first 30 minutes. With gold and blue clocks all around Austin apparently stuck on 1:30, Cameron Road struggled to…
On a day where Satin himself sat his ass down on Onion Creek Field #10 and superheated the turf to plasma-like conditions, the Honey Badgers kicked into “don’t give a shit” mode and destroyed Tomamos Muchas Cervezas by 5 goals.
In what was one of the most memorable games in recent history, 10 man Cameron Road stormed back against 17 man Slaughter Inferno to earn a 3-3 draw. After going down 1-3 midway in the second half, the Honey Badgers shifted into “don’t give a shit” mode for the rally. With epic defending, tenacious offensive…
