Cosmos 4 – Honey Badgers 1

It was not a good showing for Cameron Road yesterday. They were beaten soundly by Cosmos 4-1.

With injured players, players playing injured, and players getting injured at the game, the Honey Badgers were limping a bit, but still fielded a strong squad.

But the day would prove to be difficult as some crazy errors, bizarre referee decisions, and just plain bad luck saw the Honey Badgers give up 4 goals in 9o minutes to Cosmos.

There was one shining moment as Luke scored a wonderful goal late in the second half to give the Honey Badgers a sliver of hope. He received the ball on the left side of the box, pulled it back to beat a man and free some space, and smacked it into the far corner past the Hulk-like Cosmos keeper.

So the dream of back-to-back titles may be fading, but Cameron Road has three games left in the season to go out on a high.

Man-of-the-Match: Not only did Luke score the only goal, but his sideline to sideline runs for throw-ins were inspiring (if not tiring to watch).
