The Austin Fall Cup Report

Once again, Cameron Road did itself proud with a nice run in the annual Austin Fall Cup, but ended up losing the semi-final match for the second year in a row. This year’s rag-tag bunch won the first game 1-0, tied the second game 1-1, and won the third game 2-0 to finish top of the bracket and into the semi finals. Unfortunately, five minutes in the second half of the semi-final saw us concede two quick goals and it was game over.

Some highlights: Willis’ two goal weekend – including the world’s slowest roller, BT’s tying goal with just minutes to play, Dermot’s towering header in the box, a Chris Peterson sighting, sideline hijinx with fruit, sausage wraps, absolutely despising “Sasquatch” and then becoming his mesmerized supporter in the finals, old man Michaelis, screaming anything in a British accent, and knowing that this tournament could possibly jump start out season.

Thanks to everyone who made it out – hopefully we can win one of these things one year.
