Libertad Keeps it Clean, Beats CRU 2-1
Since the reporter’s trusty iMac is on the fritz, this will be short and sweet. Cameron Road’s second half comeback fell agonizingly shortas two scrappy goals sent a well behaved Libertad home with a victory. (minus the punch to Gianluca’s junk and somerolling around on the turf of course)
wowed his parents on the sideline with a shot that followed the trajectory of an ascending North Korean missile test… Climbing high in the sky and plummeting down in the backof the net. I’m sure Steve is crossing “scoring a goal every fiv years” off his to-do list.
But it was Libertad who followed up that goal with two of their own from inside the box tup put themselves in a winning position.
As the game ended, a foul on Chappy just outside the box gave CRU a final look at glory, but Ryan’s free kick sailed just over Chappy’s bald dome. (given his Kid-N-Play flat top of 1992 he probably would have made contact and scored)
And so CRU has 2 games left to prove their D3 worth as the campaign draws to a close. Hopefully they can shake off this loss and send Austin Athletica packing next Sunday.
MOTM- Luke gets the nod for his first half time in between the pipes ace Crosley takes the second with his defender’s goal.
