Cameron Road dance all over Capoeira FC en route to a 7-0 mauling
When only 8 players showed up for Capoeira FC, there was only going to be one result today as Cameron Road rolled up 15 deep. With four subs and a great set of fans on the sidelines, CRU jumped out to a five goal lead in the first half to virtually put the game out of reach. With the ball crossing over into CRU territory a total of maybe five times, Cameron Road passed the ball around and basically scored at will. Goals from Willis (foot), Chappy (head), Luke (foot), Stripey (poke), and Cuyler (foot) basically put the game out of reach for the brave Capoeira team who battled oppressive heat and an onslaught of offense.
As Cameron Road soaked up the good vibes at halftime, most everyone partook in a little ice cream party. A five goal lead and some tasty bomb pops was a nice reward for traveling out into the sticks of Manor in freaking triple digit heat.
Credit to Capoeira in the second half, they tried to make a game of it and pressured up the field a little more. Nevertheless, Cameron Road strolled to victory with two more goals from Gianluca (nice turn and shot) and Andy (of the tummy). I’m sure we’ll face a more motivated team when we play them in the Spring, but for now CRU will enjoy this 7-0 battering.
Man-of-the-Match: The ice cream man was right on time with his wagon as he turned a blistering first half heat wave into a melted-sugar free for all.
