CRU 8 – Gary Job Corps 1
Cameron Road exploded for 8 goals against a severely out-aged group of teenagers from the mean streets of San Marcos yesterday afternoon. To be fair, I’m not sure why Gary Job Corps got thrown into the deep end of D2 when they should be playing at recess, but what’cha gonna do. It’s fair to say we didn’t play all that well and at times were a mess, but you gotta play who they throw in front of you, right?
So yeah, there were a lot of goals scored, here’s the rundown.
- BT – a 30 yard worm burner
- Peterson – a 30 yard bomb
- Peterson – another 30 yard bomb
- BT – thunderous shot from the edge of the 18
- Chappy – perfect cross from Marcus to my gargantuan right foot
- Dermot – near post toe poke
- Bob – close range shot – he did everything but the Cajun hop
- Chappy – one-timer from a Dermot assist
We could have had about 5 more probably, but who’s counting. Actually, this was a good way to ease back into action with our last two games of the season coming up against Struggle FC and Black Star Austin. Let’s keep the win streak alive!
Man-of-the-Match: With 3 players scoring 2 goals each it’s hard to single out one player for this week’s honors. Let’s give the award to the Gary Job Corps prison bus – without it, we wouldn’t have had the pleasure of inflating our goals-for stats. Well done!
